Welcome, and thank you for visiting my little space on the internet.
My name is Martha, I’m from a small place called Prince Edward Island, and although my fitness journey isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but we all start somewhere right?
I was 20 years old when fitness became an interest to me. I slapped on a pair of sneakers in hopes to start running, and quickly found out I couldn’t run 2 minutes without my chest getting tight and my legs cramping up. From that point I worked every week to increase my distance and before long I was running 1, then 3, then 5 kilometers.
Running is now second nature to me, and I’ve happily completed 4 half marathons, and am currently training for my first full marathon to take place in October 2016.
Fitness is a never ending journey, and I’m always looking for new ways to test my abilities and grow as an individual. In addition to running, I strength train and recently (2016) began power lifting.
When it comes to nutrition, I’ve been down the road of eating excessive amounts of “junk,” and have also gone to the other extreme of not consuming enough/restricting the foods I really love. I’m now more aware of what I consume, and am sure to give my body lots of the good stuff, while still fitting in the treats that satisfy my cravings (hint: it’s all about balance!)
This blog is a way for me to share my experiences with eating healthier and working out, and to share the recipes I create at home. My goal is for other people to come across this site and find something that resonates with them. Maybe you’re just starting your own fitness journey, or perhaps looking for some inspiration in the kitchen, whilst keeping your health in check.
I’m here to illustrate that health and fitness are definitely attainable to anyone, and you can have fun and enjoy your food at the same time without restricting food or dreading workouts!
