I refuse to deprive myself of what keeps me running, and therefore chocolate will ALWAYS be part of my life (ha!)
With that said, here’s a nice treat I came up with.
I love having snacks like this on hand for running errands, or when you just need something when waiting for supper to cook (or is that just me?)
Also, these are dairy free and vegan friendly IF you have a vegan protein powder.
I used Cellucor’s Molten Chocolate which is not vegan friendly.
Double Chocolate Protein Treat
1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder (28 Grams)
1/3 Cup Ground Flax Seed (40 Grams)
1 Cup Oats (100 Grams)
1/3 Cup Sunflower Seeds (roasted/unsalted) (50 Grams)
1 Scoop Chocolate Protein Powder (37 Grams)
3/4 Cup Nut Butter of choice (180 Grams)
6 TB Agave or Honey
3 TB Mini Chocolate Chips (45 Grams)
In a food processor mix the first 5 ingredients.
Add nut butter and agave, and mix until well blended.
Stir in the chocolate chips and press into a 9×9 pan, or roll the batter into balls.
I chose to press the mixture into a pan first, then sprinkled the chips over top and pressed into the mixture.
Keep in the fridge until hardened and then cut into squares.
If rolling into balls, use a measured tablespoon to make consistently portioned servings (about 15 Grams per serving)
I chose all natural peanut butter and agave for this batch.
Ingredients are interchangeable so experiment and see what you like best!
